Out of all of the coins I have I think this one may be the prettiest- as far as I'm concerned. I love the color, I love the size of it- cause this is actually a pretty big coin- the weathering. It's also a weird coin because it doesn't have Elizabeth II on it. She's on so many coins, in so many countries it's weird to think there was someone on those coins before her. I think I've got four coins with George VI on them.

1976 50 New Pence
This is a heptagon. Yeah, I had no idea what word that was either. But apparently this shape lets the coin roll freely and go in machines better. This size isn't legal anymore- they've switched to a smaller 50p.
1952 Wheat Penny
A 1952 D wheat penny, all the way from Denver, Colorado. I have no idea whats up with who delivers the coins to my store. Its a weird day when I can't find at least one wheat penny.
2006 1 Jiao
This coin is from the same nice lady as who gave me the 2003 Yuan. I hope she's doing well back in China.
2003 1 Yuan
This is a Chinese coin that has a sort of cute story. I've never been to China, though it looks really lovely. I was working the other week and a customer was in the store buying a lot before she had to go back to her teaching position in China. I mentioned the coin collection and she gave me two to add to it. It's worth about .13 cents and it's one of the few still live coins I have in my collection.

1979 5 Pence
Ignore the super modern 5 pence, it's just there to show something. So the summer before last I went on Study Abroad to the UK, which is where the smaller 5 pence came from. I've got a friend who lives there, who hooks me up with UK coins. And he gave me the larger 5 pence you see there, because they don't make them in that size now. In comparison the modern 5 pence is about the size of an American dime. Also check out the progression on Elizabeth II's image. It's going to be really weird when I have all of her coins up.
1976 25 Cents
This is Canadian money. It's pretty common where I'm from, especially the one cent. I'm not sure where I turned this up, but it was probably mistaken for an American quarter or something. Pretty nice elk or caribou on it. I really like money with animals on it.
